The government has launched the first phase of the Corona vaccine (COVID-19) starting from January to April 2021. The Ministry of Health ( Kemenkes ) has prepared procedures for the implementation of vaccination.

Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin has signed the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number Hk.01.07 / Menkes / 12757/2020 concerning the Determination of the Target for the Implementation of COVID-19 Vaccination. Head of the Ministry of Health's Communication and Community Service Bureau, Widyawati, confirmed this Ministerial Decree.

The Ministerial Decree explains that the names of COVID-19 vaccine recipients are in the 2019 Corona Virus Disease Vaccination Information System One Data. People receiving the COVID-19 vaccine will receive an SMS today, Thursday (31/12/2020).

"People who get notification via SMS Blast are obliged to follow the implementation of COVID-19 Vaccination ," wrote the third dictum of the Minister of Health .

It was explained that people who receive notification via SMS Blast are required to participate in the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination. The target of implementing the COVID-19 Vaccination is the priority group of people who receive the COVID-19 vaccine in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.

"Excluded from the provisions of the fourth point, for people who do not meet the criteria for receiving the COVID-19 vaccine in accordance with the available indications for the COVID-19 vaccine," wrote the fifth dictum of the Minister of Health.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that the target of the first phase of COVID-19 vaccination in Indonesia is one to two weeks, so that later the distribution stage can be continued in a number of provinces.

"I feel that the first stage regarding the provision and approval of vaccines, God willing, is in a week or two," said Budi in a virtual press conference at Bio Farma, Bandung, Wednesday (12/30/2020).

"So that the Ministry of Health can enter the second stage of how to think about the distribution of vaccines to immediately be given to health workers and public services," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Food and Drug Administration (BPOM) is still waiting for the interim results of the clinical trial data for the Corona Sinovac vaccine in Bandung. This is one of the assessments of the future issuance of an emergency use permit (EUA).

Indonesia also purchased the Corona AstraZeneca and Novavax vaccines for 50 million doses of each. Minister of Health Budi also said that the COVID-19 vaccination effort was not solely an effort of the Ministry of Health itself, but involved many parties.

On the other hand, Prof. Kusnandi Rusmil, Chair of the Sinovac Vaccine Clinical Trial Research Team in Bandung, said that interim clinical trial data could only be given to BPOM in the first week of January 2021. So far, the side effects found have been nothing more than pain and soreness at the injection site. the same as during vaccinations in general.

Purchased by Indonesia, AstraZeneca's Corona Vaccine Received EUA in the UK

The good news, the Corona COVID-19 vaccine made by Oxford- AstraZeneca has received an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK.

The Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, said that MHRA is one of the drug and food regulatory authorities that is trusted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and has a reliance mechanism with BPOM .

"Through this reliance mechanism, the EUA issuance process for the AstraZeneca vaccine in Indonesia will be easier. The results of the EUA in the UK can be used as a basis and a review for the issuance of EUA in Indonesia," said Retno at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Cargo Terminal, in a YouTube broadcast of the Presidential Secretariat, Thursday. Previously, as many as 50 million doses of Corona AstraZeneca vaccine have been ordered by the government and are planned to arrive in the second quarter of 2021-first quarter of 2022. In addition, 50 million doses of the Corona Novavax vaccine have also been ordered.
